Job Details:
Verifies insurance coverage and notifies patient in a timely manner.
Prepares charts/EMR for clinic day. Ensures files contain required information such as lab results.
Obtains appropriate signatures and provides explanations of the content of all documents requiring signatures.
Assist with billing, coding, and collections needed.
Generates end of day report on a daily basis and confirms that all encounters have been captured.
Answers telephones in a professional manner and routes calls to appropriate departments.
Prepares any requests for copies of medical records. Assist with filing, distribution of faxes and other clerical duties.
Qualifications:
Complete and successfully pass the Patient Access training course.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Desired: Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines to include but not limited to HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.
Knowledge of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations, and precertification.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work weekends when necessary.
Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
