Job Description

Specialty: Emergency Medicine
EMR System: Cerner
Shift Times: 7 AM - 6 PM, 6 PM - 7 AM
Patient Volume: 1.8 patients per hour
Nocturnists Needed: Must work nights

Physician Requirements:

EM Residency Trained: Completion of an ACGME or AOA-accredited Emergency Medicine residency.
ABEM or AOBEM (or Canadian equivalent) required for those completing residency post-January 1, 1996.
Board Eligible physicians must obtain certification within three (3) years of initial staff appointment.

Non-EM Residency Trained: Completion of an ACGME or AOA-accredited residency with relevant emergency medicine experience (as deemed appropriate by the Board of Trustees).
AMA or AOA Board Certification (or Canadian equivalent) required for those completing residency post-January 1, 1996.
Board Eligible physicians must obtain certification within three (3) years of initial staff appointment.

Certification Requirements: Board certification must not lapse once privileges are granted.

Life Support Certifications:
BLS required regardless of board certification status.
AHA ACLS/PALS and ATLS recommended for EM Board Certified physicians.
AHA ACLS/PALS and ATLS required for non-EM Board Certified physicians.

Sedation Privileges:
Must possess AHA ACLS, provide documentation of training and experience, and successfully pass the Sedation Quiz.

Licensing: Candidates in the process of obtaining a license or with an end date may be considered.
