Shift: Sunday - Thursday 12:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.; Tuesday - Sunday 12:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Anticipated Duration: 13 Weeks/3+ months
Start: ASAP

Job Details:

Provides accurate, timely, and cost-effective laboratory testing of patient samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Performs complex tests in chemistry, serology, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, endocrinology limited microbiology and microscopic observations.

Performs testing on quality control and proficiency tests.

Complies with laboratory and hospital’s safety procedures.

Performs instrument maintenance and function checks as scheduled.

Identifies real or potential problem situations or equipment failures, attempts to resolve within area of specialty or knowledge, and refers complex issues to appropriate source.

Completes records, reports, and other statistical data as required.

Communicate appropriately with clients, patients, coworkers and the general public.

Promotes and adheres to the elements and provisions of MMV compliance program, including the annual training and competency requirement.

Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Lab Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry.

ASCP certification preferred

At least one (1) year recent experience in a clinical setting.

Experience Required: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Blood Gas, Blood Bank, Limited Microbiology , Coagulation, Urinalysis

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Additional languages preferred.

Basic computer knowledge required.

New York State License as a Medical Technologist.
